Ms. Mary Johnson is a co-owner of EZ Ride Auto Sales & Service LLC and works directly with customers in sales. A Suffolk native with deep roots in the area, Ms. Mary brings a warm, down-to-earth approach to the dealership.

Since EZ Ride opened in 2013, Ms. Mary has been a familiar and caring presence in the business. While Richard worked full-time at VDOT, she took care of the daily operations, paperwork, and customers, putting her heart into helping their shared dream grow. She spent more than a decade building EZ Ride into what it is today. Since Richard retired from VDOT in May 2024, they have continued building on that dream together.

Ms. Mary enjoys getting to know people and has a way of making customers feel comfortable and heard. She takes a genuine interest in their needs, offers practical advice, and believes in treating people fairly. Her warmth, common sense, and willingness to stand behind her word make her someone customers can feel comfortable turning to, whether they are shopping for a vehicle or simply need a little guidance.

Richard Byrum - Owner

Mr. Richard Byrum is a co-owner of EZ Ride Auto Sales & Service LLC and brings a hands-on, practical approach to the business. He believes in keeping things straightforward, treating people fairly, and making sure customers know they have someone local they can come back to when they need help.

Richard has always had a vision for what EZ Ride could become. What began as a used-car lot in 2013 has grown, one step at a time, into a full-service auto and truck repair, body, and paint shop. His mechanical knowledge, determination, and willingness to take on new challenges have helped shape that growth. From expanding the services offered to improving the property and buildings, Richard takes pride in making EZ Ride a better place for the people who depend on it.

He also understands that customers need practical solutions. Richard takes the time to explain what a vehicle needs, what can wait, and which options make sense. He believes in recommending the work that is needed, not selling someone more than they need, and helping customers make informed decisions they can feel comfortable with.

After 30 years of service with VDOT, Richard retired in May 2024 and has continued building on the dream he and Ms. Mary started together. He is always looking for ways to meet the changing needs of the community, whether that means improving what EZ Ride already offers or exploring a new opportunity. Ms. Markeva Warren is the Sales & Office Manager at EZ Ride Auto Sales & Service LLC, bringing more than 10 years of automotive experience and a strong connection to the Southampton County community. She knows the area, understands the roads people travel every day, and has a good sense of what customers need from their vehicles.

As one of the first people customers speak with when they call or walk through the door, Markeva is a familiar and welcoming presence at EZ Ride. She has a natural ability to connect with people, understand what they are looking for, and help them find a vehicle that fits their needs, lifestyle, and budget.

Many customers know Markeva by name and ask for her when they call or stop by. She takes pride in those relationships and in helping people feel comfortable throughout the buying process. Her warmth, experience, and connection to the community make Markeva the heartbeat of the front end of EZ Ride.
